Dr. Anais Malpica is a Professor of Pathology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She received her M.D. degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, and completed both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residencies at Boston University and Baylor College of Medicine. This was followed by a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
She was the former Director of the Gynecologic Pathology Section (2006-2014) and Director of the Gynecologic Pathology Fellowship Program (2003-2013) at MD Anderson. Dr. Malpica has authored and coauthored 220 peer-reviewed articles, 17 invited articles, 32 book chapters and 2 books on gynecologic pathology. She is a member of the editorial board of the “International Journal of Gynecological Pathology” and “Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine”. In addition, she was formally the Co-chair of the Educational Committee of the International Society of Gynecologic Pathology (2014-2016).
