Dr. Sandra J. Shin is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Chief of Breast Pathology at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. She is also Vice-Chair for Education, Director of the Pathology Residency Program and Director of the Breast Pathology Fellowship Program. She directs one of the largest breast pathology consultation services in the U.S. which serves practicing pathologists, clinicians and patients across the U.S. Aside from her busy clinical work, Dr. Shin has been very active in translational research focused on breast disease which has resulted in numerous (>80) peer-reviewed scientific articles and invited reviews. She is the editor of a recently published breast pathology textbook entitled “A Comprehensive Guide to Core Needle Biopsies of the Breast” (Springer Publishing). Dr. Shin also teaches diagnostic breast pathology through many venues including educational courses at pathology society meetings and invited speaker forums.
